Children’s Health & Well-Being
If you're worried about your child's general development or wellbeing, including their health, educational or social care needs, and you think they need additional support, speak to their healthcare professional, teacher or nursery worker.
Emotional Well-Being
Children come into the world with certain basic emotional needs: the need to feel loved and the need for a positive self-esteem. As a parent, it is your job to be aware of these needs, and communicate with your child in a way that will support your child's positive growth. Children have a strong need for love that begins at birth. Children need a positive self-esteem. It is in your eyes, your words, your actions and your smile that your child forms an image of themselves.

Mental Health
Mental health problems affect about 1 in 10 children and young people. They include depression, anxiety and conduct disorder, and are often a direct response to what is happening in their lives.
As parents and carers, there are ways you can support your children to give them the best chance to stay mentally healthy.
